     Doyle is a native of Wall, SD. He obtained his Bachelor of Science Degree in 1971 from the University of South Dakota. Thereafter he attended George Washington University in Washington, D.C. as a graduate student in the Masters Degree in Public Administration. He received his J.D. from the University of South Dakota in 1975.

     Thereafter he worked two years as Assistant Attorney General for the state of South Dakota in Pierre, SD. In 1978 he received his LL.M. in Taxation from New York University. Since 1978, he has been involved in the private practice of law in Rapid City, SD.

     Doyle has served as President of the following organizations:

• Pennington County Bar Association;
• West River Estate Planning Council;
• Pennington County Housing and Redevelopment Commission;
• the Dahl Foundation; and 
• The Journey Museum.

     Doyle is also active on the boards of the South Dakota Friends of Public Broadcasting and Rapid City Regional Hospital Foundation.
